BlackBelt Page

This page will be dedicated to all the students who have realized their goal of becoming a BlackBelt at Peninsula Martial Arts.

Training in the martial arts requires dedication.  Setting a goal is only a step toward accomplishment, now the work begins.  Loftier goals require harder work and are complicated by tougher obstacles but with a good attitude and perserverance one learns to get over hurdles and to continue to make progress until fruitation.  Earning a Black Belt in karate can be considered only a strong emphasis in the beginning.  Working through the color belt system can be likened to getting through grade school and with the Black Belt test now one starts working on high school curriculum.  There's still a while before mastery but it is the path that is exciting when on a journey in the martial arts.

Confidence comes from accomplishments.  When people set goals and reach them, they believe in themselves.  They know that they can do things because they have done the things they have set out to do.  More self-esteem is the result of taking on things that might not have seemed possible but through dedication were realized.

Discipline is what it take to stick with things that make you want to give up.  When individuals reach hurdles in life the tendency is to find something easier to do, essentially to quit.  When there is a network of caring folks present one can be guided to success which will set a higher standard for life.
